Default Trailer Harness/Brake Controller Questions?

Im looking at getting a small camper that is around 2,495lbs. So assuming fully loaded with water and everything, just shy of 3k ????

I am only wired for a 4 pin, but need to get a 7 pin blade style adapter. I also need a brake controller as well. What are your set ups, who are running trailers? I looked at a few videos online and it doesn't seem to be too much of a problem to wire it up, but I might have the trailer place wire it all up for me, if i'm feeling lazy then. For those who use your Jeep off road as well, where are you mounting the trailer adapter on the Jeep side at? I'm just trying to find a good location that is up and out of the way of possibly getting caught up in rocks.

Thanks everyone in advance.

I bought the Mopar 7pin harness kit. It's well worth it as it's plug-n-play with good instructions. I bought a $35 controller and $9 harness adapter. I mounted it under the steering column using the center screw. Pic shows where I made a hole for the plug, welded on the bracket, and the harness laying on the ground. Both are included in the harness kit. What's cool with this kit is that the plug is detachable from the harness.

I just went ahead and ordered that kit. I ordered it from Ebay and says it not compatible with my Jeep but if you look up the part number online. It shows it will work with my year. I like the plug and play.

The controller is actually more wiring work than the harness. Harness is all connectors with 2 wires to battery and one to controller, but controller is this;

Ok cool, seems easy enough. After some more research. It seems I should definitely not even think about towing that much weight, due to how much my Jeep weighs already with my additional add ons. I will have to find something much smaller.

Thanks, they are rare. Took 2 years of looking locally.
