It looks very good indeed. So, is it permanently on or can you make it cut power wen the ignition is off?

I am wondering whether I can mount it on top of an Otter box with the relays inside to keep everything organized and protected.

An unrelated question. Why did you remove the hood's sound barrier? What noise difference did you notice?

I have to throw in my $0.02. You do not have to disconnect the power from the battery to be safe. Just simply disconnecting the control power will do the same thing. By using an accessory circuit for control power, the voltage is disconnected everytime you turn off the key.
Also, some Jeeps do not come with the "Fire Suppression" material on the hood.

Not sure I understood. What do you mean by control power?

In my case, I want something that cuts the power to accessories off when ignition is off so I do not drain the battery by accidentally forgetting things on (e.g. CB, HAM, lights, etc).

I managed to accomplish this for the lights by cutting the power to the relays that feed them. So, if that marine box allows for similar feature it would work for what I have in mind.

On the unrelated topic. That thick "blanket" under the hood is for fire control purposes? How does it work? In case of fire it releases some kind of fire suppression material?

Ya, this is what I mean by control power. You do not need a special box to do this for power controling relays. Just a plain ole accessory circuit will do this.

I guess that it may serve as some sound suppression. But it's main function is fire suppression. If there were an engine fire, the material will fall away from the hood. Acting like a blanket to smother the fire. All jeeps did not come with this. My jeep didn't.
