Default Too many wires... Out of room!

Hey all,

Anyone have any insight as to how to wire up multiple accessories to the battery? Is there some kind of accessory rail that you can get to attach to the battery cable/terminal? I have my high lights, CB, and air compressor wired to the battery and I'm out of space on the terminal connector to attach the positive cable for my new winch! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

There are aftermarket ends for the top mount battery cables that have a much longer stud on them for attaching the vehicle and accesories... You can also use an extra fuse box...

Well I'm not sure if there is a product out there, but I made my own set up. I used to work at West Marine and they sold a set of power poles for $25 (with my employee discount cost me about $7). I cut 2, 4 foot lengths of 8 gauge marine wire (red and black) and ring terminals. Screwed the power poles to the plastic battery tray on top and ran my leads to the battery. Re routed all accessories to the power poles and only wires to battery are the vehicles hook ups and my positive and negative leads. Works amazing and I can run limitless accessories.

I am not at home right now, but I can take a detailed pic for u. Here is the only one I have on my phone. Look right from my battery and you will see the poles and wiring. I also run an optima yellow top to handle all of my accessories.

Why not build your own or use a marine type of distribution block?

Thanks for all the responses so far! I think some of that's a little over my head, unfortunately... And might be a bit overkill for me right now. I like the idea of just having a terminal connector with a longer stud (that was my initial thought), but I checked 3 different auto parts stores and nobody had anything like that...? Anyone know where I can find one? Or ideally one with multiple studs?

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is that...? How/where does it work?

Go to a marine site like West Marine or maybe Summit, can't remember where I found mine and pick up a powered (waterproof is best) fuse block. One hot connected to the battery, six or so fused wires coming out.
