This issue has been around for 20 years. When I first started my EE career I worked on Remote Keyless Entry IC's. The company I worked for developed a rolling algorithm where one would have to continuously hit the button for several years before the code would repeat. They even had some great publicity videos of thieves with scanners catching codes, blah, blah, blah.
Have crooks used this to steal cars, I am sure they have but I believe most crimes are one of opportunity. I think we give thieves too much credit.

lol, snickers bar wore off haha. Yeah, im slacking now too. Need to clean mine too. Haha after work the couch was calling my name. Now time to get food might get motivated.

I think the best way to secure your vehicle is to installed the security lock that have hidden alarm in it.So that if any one try to open the lock without the key than the alarm will triggered and you get the alert and take action to save your car.
