Default Subwoofers

For you guys running 2 subs and box in the back of your jku. How bad did the weight cause your jku to sit lower in the rear? I have 2 JL audio 10s and box I'm thinking of putting in but don't want to if its going to lower the rear any.

i have 2 amps- 1 under each front seat and as for your subs, just get as small of a box as possible (spec wise) since you don't need the surface area for mounting your amps. this will even the weight distribution out better through the jeep and you shouldn't sacrifice much height that way.

I didn't notice my Jeep squat any when I installed 2-12" subs. I run a RK 3.5" lift.

An average box for 2 10" subs takes about half a sheet of MDF: which whole weighs around 80lbs. Many 10" subs run up to 20lbs each. Amps are roughly 10lbs (my Rockford T1000 is 9lbs).

You can round up to estimate 100lbs for a Dual 10" Sub setup. You wouldn't see a noticeable drop even if you stuck all of that at the very back of the cargo area.

Note that a sub box might seem to weigh more, but moving nearly 2 cubic feet at that weight is unwieldy :p

What JL subs are you wanting to use? I had to 10" W3's in my back and it didn't affect the lift at all.

Inside my JK:

Still room left in the back:

I just mounted the amp on the box (I know, its not the best place but I wanted it out of the way.

You'll be fine then. I was looking to find/make a box to go under the rear seat.
