Default Sub question!!

I'm looking at subs for my 2 door x. I found a single 12" Polk 4 ohm sub and a 12" enclosure. I'm looking at Amps also, any suggestions? And I was wondering if I can run a sub off my stock head unit? I have the touch screen my gig with nav and the works. I will eventually get a 4 channel amp for my Polk speakers. So main question is, "can I run a sub, and a 5 channel amp? Or would it be better to run a sub, a mono amp, and a 4 channel amp off the stock head unit?" what would be a better choice? And would either work with the stock HU?"
Kind of confusing. Sorry guys. Any replies appreciated, thanks

Either way you can use a line out converter to splice into the wires on the back of the hu or amp. Honestly it'd be better to run seperate amps for mids and sub. You'll get more power that way for a lot less $.

Well I have two setups. I can take the back seat out of my 2 door and put in a 6 cu ft box with two 15" Kicker L7s with a Kicker ZX 1500.1 amp. When I need my backseat in I put one Kicker comp in a cheap Walmart box and the 1500 watt amp behind the back seat...

It just depends on how big the amp is and where you want it. The little storage cover by the tailgate is perfect to screw an amp into. Or screw it to your box....
