Default Stock audio system

Hello all,
I just picked up a 2013 last week and it has the "alpine" upgraded stereo system. I honestly have to say that it does not sound good at all and I'm someone who is really not picky about my audio. I was wondering if I could get some improvement by replacing the 4 main speakers with upgraded ones? I've done some research and have seen some people mention the Mopar upgraded ones but was curious as to what others have done. I'd like to leave the head unit stock. Thanks for any help.

Try adjusting the eq first. Treble +9, mid-8, bass+4.

I just did the sound bar and dash 6 1/2" speakers in my 2010 jk. The sound bar was easy and just cut into the factory wires and left the stock harness just encase I sell the truck and want my speakers back. I put in Polkaudio DXI's 6 1/2. I picked them up from BestBuy, they are about $100 bucks for a pair.

Thanks all! I have another question though. I keep seeing references to the upgraded infinity system, yet my jeep came with the "Alpine" upgraded system. Are they the same thing? It was not an expensive option. ($395 I think). The main reason I ask is when I go to Crutchfield, it asks me whether or not I have the Infinity system but does not mention anything about alpine.
Thanks!

The alpine replaced the infinity system in the newer models.

For model year 2013, Jeep replaced the Infinity system with the Alpine system.

I also have the 2013 with Alpine and went from a 2011 with the Infinity. I thought the same thing until I played around with the EQ. On the 2013 the bass seems super heavy and gets distorted when played at high level. Try turning bass to -2. You'll be surprised at how much better it sounds with a nice thump too. My current setting is bass-2, mid +3, and treb +6. I also moved the sound more rear (about two clicks from center). I'm very happy with the sound now and think it's better than what I had set for the Infinity. Of course it really depends on what you like. Cheers

I just replaced the stock speakers on my 2012 unlimited to the Mopar Kicker upgrade.

Night and day!!! The upgraded speakers in the dash and sound bar sound amazing. Besides changing the speakers, I did stuff the front pods and soundbar with polyfill. Well worth it. It even sounds like I have a sub.

Best upgrade/mod under $200!

I just got my 13' Rubi last night. I'm not at all impressed with the stereo.
-Granted, I'm coming from an 08' SRT8 GC that I installed a JL Clean Sweep in, as well as C2 speakers all around, and a 10W7 woofer in the rear.

I've adjusted the EQ some. I seem to like it best @ -1, +2, +6. But even there... it's not clear at all, and I have the top of the line MyGig/U-Connect system in there.
