Have you tried the antenna mod? Works very well and you keep your stock antenna

My solution (although keep in mind I'm in the UK) was to get a digital radio converter. Not sure how far along the line the US is with digital and/or Sirius satellite radio but if you have it then the converter completely bypasses your stubby (or stock) antenna and utilises a secondary antenna instead. The reception and improvement in overall sound quality are dramatic. I just did my install and posted about it here:

I have a feeling you guys are using Sirius XM which probably isn't free but I thought I read you had digital, too, though not sure to what extent?

I got it at Advance Auto. But I did have to modify it to work. The female threads on the Jeep are 5/16". And the female threads on the antenna were 1/4". So I barrowed a 5/16 bottom tap from a friend and just tapped out the threads on the antenna. Then I bought a 5/16 bolt and hack-sawed the the shank off of the threads ( basically making a very short piece of all-thread ). Then I screwed the threads into the antenna. Leaving enough threads to screw into the Jeep,

Yep. If you notice. My stubby is rotated also. I tried just the rotation mod first. But the antenna slaps the side of the Jeep.
