Stereo Upgrade Question
I have a 2007 2 door with stock 6 speaker stereo. NOT the infinity system but I do have the Mopar / Kicker sub. I want to upgrade the speakers so it sounds better and I can actually hear the sound bar speakers. I'm leaning towards Polk speakers. There is an amp behind the dash just under the steering column. Does this amp only power the sub? I want to try to understand the wiring before I get too deep. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks.

If you want better sound but an aftermarket HU with a 5 channel amp and run all the speakers and sub off of it. If your handy with wiring you can save some cash by doing it yourself. I have a 4 channel and a mono running components up from and infinity 6.5" in the back (soundbar). Might be pricey but if your looking for quality sound, toss all of the factory junk in the trash can. Cheers

If you have the amp then you have the infinity sound system as that came with them. The amp power all the speakers and the sub. You can get different speakers, it will sound better the the ones in there. I like alpine type-r speakers they are better the the type-s by far.

I did the dodge nitro amp upgrade and I'm pretty happy with it. Replaced the sound bar speakers with the Polk audio. I plan on replacing the dash speakers, dash tweeters and sub in the back at some point. Sounds much better. I want to keep the factory look with my gig. I drive it around doorless and topless for about 4 months of the year.
