Default Steering wheel swap

I've searched a bit for an answer to an unusual question, but I've come up empty. I'm thinking of swapping my basic, hard plastic steering wheel for the leather covered wheel. The real issue is that I want to change the head unit for a Pioneer unit. Will the steering wheel controls work (with an adapter of course) or will there be a problem? The leather wheel also has additional buttons for (I guess) UCnnect. Will these buttons do anything or can I add the UConnect module? Anyone have any ideas or experience with this? Thanks

Pay a trim shop to sew you one on. Probably much cheaper if thats all you want.

Possibly. I like the look and feel of the other wheel. And if the additional buttons will work, even better!
