Spot or Flood lights?! Help I'm clueless lol
Okay so... I've never bought any sort of aftermarket lighting... So I don't really know what I should buy, flood or spot lights?
I am going to be ordering some Rigid Industries Dually lights that are going to be mounted on the windshield brakets the previous owner left on the Jeep.
here is the link to the ones I am looking at buying Duallys (Set of two)
I mostly like the way they look but I want to get ones that will actually be usable the few rare times I will need them. I do four wheel... I also take the jeep camping... so...
What do you think... floods or spots?
Any quick responses will help I am placing my order this afternoon lol
Thanks!

Flood will have phat hood glare. Spots will have very little. But may be to long of range for trails or camping.
The next best alternative, driving beam (euro beam). Mixes flood an spot. Therefore you get get the side of the road lit up like floods and less range than a spot.
I just put some driving on my light bar. They are sexy.

Hrm... Thanks for the help.
Still in the dark...(har har) on what I should get.
I wont be using these on the street or anything... They are mostly for lighting a rocky trail at night or setting up a camp site...
So... to me it seems like the the defusion light would be good...
I'm not driving with these on the road so do yall think the glare from my hood would be ok for my use?
again... thank for any advice.
I'd rather get the info from someone who's more experienced than me before i drop $200 on some lighting.

If its entirely for setting up camp and won't be used on road, diffused would be best. Aim them outwards and get good light coverage.
This would also help on trails, head lights front and diffused outwards.

Ryan, what color is your jeep? That will be the biggest factor when it comes to glare. Mine is dark blue so I get no glare. I have Dually D2's on mine and to be honest, the only glare I get is where they light up the hood latches. Mine are wide beam and I would definitely spend the money and go D2's not the standard duallys. You will be happier with the light output (I have seen both and switched to D2's). Don't get spot, too much light in a focused space for what you want to do. Diffused or not is personal choice, just keep in mind with a diffused light, they are very easy to over drive them if and when you decide to use them on a back road instead of just wheeling.
BTW, mine are on KC mounts that keep them up a bit higher than many of the other mounts people use. That may be the reason I don't have a glare issue as well. The KC mounts seem to be about 3" higher than some of the other mounts available.
