Cheaper bulbs don't fit nor put out light the best in a projector. Thinner hotspot and width. I'm gonna I with the md2s 3.0 squares. If I don't like them I'm gonna go with the fx-r

Oh and oem projectors really need oem bulbs. You can find some Philips 85122s. For around 40-50 bucks barely used. The total cost because I already have ballast is under 400. When I called them they said a pretty basic build would be around 450. So paint, shroud paint, if you wanna add the angel eye garbage(my opinion), etc...
I'm gonna go with Gatling gun square shrouds and cannot for the life of my figure out how I want the paint scheme to be.

they haven't really posted decent output shots of the TRS min D2S 3.0, but I'm sure they would look better than the generic q5r one that have already been tested. I stopped my retrofit when I figured there was no way in hell I could fit my e55 on the JK and have been waiting on these 3.0's square for a while now since I wanted to use d2s bulbs as well. Do take lots of pics of you decide to do a write-up which shroud are you going with?

When I spoke with them I was told they are as close as possible to the fx-r(fx-r is still the better choice) I believe the md2s is supposed to have a little less low beam but a better high beam than the fx-r. Easier to retrofit though. I think the look will be really different which is what I wanna go for.

The FXR fit easily. I only had to use a 1 3/4" hole saw to make a little room for the base of the projector. I used werthe two part epoxy to mount the projector to the headlight base. Prior to the two part epoxy I used a thick gel cyanoacrylate and speed set activator to position the projector radially and vertical/horizontally. The can bus Morimoto bixenon harness made specifically for dodge/Chrysler/Jeep H13 is a must as well. Only complaint would be that the "high beam" circuit used to activate the cutoff solenoid is very quick to turn on but had about a two second delay to close the shutter.

Looks great. I figured it wouldn't be hard. I just want to see what the square one will look like.
Great job now it's time to paint the chrome trim rings!

That is a plan as soon as it warms up today. Should have done it the other day when I retrofitted the projectors but it was dark outside when I took the lights off the jeep and thought that the chrome retainers were gonna be better hidden behind the front facia.
