sirius xm radio... what do you pay?
My free year ends in 3 days. I only drive my Jeep once or twice a week, and even then we are not in it for very long. I really cant see paying $14 a month for the radio. Problem is, I really like having it when I am driving it though. Anyone out there negotiate a deal on the rate or discounted paid in full. My parents have had theirs for several years and pay like $85 a year. They are grandfathered in I guess. Suggestions?
Thanks,
Josh
Thanks,

Just let it lapse; they'll start blasting you with email and snail mail offering you 5 months for $25, then 6 months for $25. At that price, it's worth keeping. They seem to be ridiculously desperate to keep/regain subscribers. I've got about 13 pieces of mail from them over the last month or so, as well as a dozen or so emails trying to get me to renew a WK stereo (don't have the WK anymore, but still have the head unit sitting in the garage).

I have renewed my every time by calling to have it turned off. Then they start offering you all kind of deals to keep it on. You can typically get a pretty good deal.

I have had Sirius for the past 6 yrs. I have never paid full price. Just as was said before. I call them up and tell them I want to cancel it and low and behold 12 months for the price if 6. When I pay I always stipulate to them to make it a ONE time payment. They love to try and let it auto renew. With your free one year ending you can expect a mailer offering 12 months for 6. I just renewed mine and my wife's about two weeks ago under the same. If you can't get a deal do without for a week and I guarantee you'll get either a mailer, an email, or both. When I do call I generally go straight to the cancelation department. The hold time is much longer (big surprise) but they have the ability to cut deals when the general customer service can't.

This is what I was hoping. Hate "regular" radio now, but I can survive a few weeks maybe a month or 2 until they hook me up with a fair price. Thanks for all the info. I love this forum.

The wife just got a 2010 Honda Pilot and they gave us 6 months free on hers because we already have an account set up for my Silverado and my Jeep both. They are really great to deal with.

I just asked for 50% off (I think that's the new subscriber intro offer) and they give it to me. Mines up for renewal again in couple days lets hope it works again - else it's back to radio.
