I would also like a status update on these lights. JP Mag did a write up on these lights in the latest edition.

I love the setup. Great job.

I read that as well. They said the lens started to turn yellow.

Here's a pic of these 7" HID lights next to a 130W 6" KC Daylighter on my old golf cart, Turf Killer.

I've been running them for 3 months now on my other golf cart and there's been no color change in the lens. they also come with a removable plastic lens shield. Maybe that's what turned yellow from heat exposure?

Here's the 4" lights on my Jeep.

I haven't had any yellowing of the lights, but I also don't have a ton of hours on them -- I've had them on for probably less than five hours total since I put them on. There is a protective polycarbonate cover that snaps over the lights that has a tendency to fog up in the wet, so I sprayed some Speedo swim goggle defogger on the back of them, and it seems to have helped. Other than that, I haven't had any issues.

On the bracket, I'm noticing an annoying bounce when running rough trails. I'm thinking it's because the lights with the integrated starter and ballast are somewhat heavier than a typical halogen. I'm planning to add some gussets to the tabs to stiffen them up. I'll post up some pics when I do, but something to keep an eye out for if you're planning to do something similar.

How do you like the 4" ones? Have you compared them with the light of the 7"? Do you wish you would have put the 7s on? I think there is only a few dollars difference between the two...

It is the clear plastic cover they were refering to turning yellow, I believe the article said the lens are glass

..bump..

I updated the original post to show what I did yesterday to stiffen the brackets. Still very happy with these lights.
