I'm in the process of finishing up my Kenwood 7190HD install. Will post pics later today. No extra battery needed for a head unit replacement. I've run a ton of stuff off of one battery without problems. It's your alternator that feeds your equipment.

I used the PAC harness. I think it's PR4-CHY11. Easy hook up and no programming necessary to keep steering wheel controls. You will have to cut the bottom of the metal frame that held the original radio. The Kenwood won't fit through it. I just cut the lower half off. Put a piece of foam tape over the top rear of the unit where it goes through the frame to keep it from rattling. Also put a little padding on the bottom so that it rests on the vents. It's a tight fit, but very doable. Had to do a software update on the unit. Very easy.
The GPS works great. I mounted the antenna on top of the dash. Ground the brake wire, and you can use the DVD player while driving.
Very happy with the unit so far.

I run a Sony gp head unit with a Kicker zx350.4. Been using this head unit for 7 years, was in my last truck. Sounds way better then factory. I also run windshield lights and air compressor. I have run my sound system with jeep off for over 5 hours, battery still cranked jeep. You will be fine. Good luck with your choice.

May be more info than you want but...
Head Unit - Kenwood Excelon KDC-X996 - EQ flexibility was very strong, Bluetooth and iphone integration is awesome. I didn't want a nav unit because I know where I'm going.
Sub Amp - Fostgate PBR300x1 - 300 watts into 1 ohm
Fosgate PBR300x4 - 3x75 power the front and soudbar speaks
Both amps stacked in factory location under the dash.
Sub - Fosgate P3SD210 - Dual 2 ohm in a modified stock enclosure made with mdf, fiberglass and covered with Linex and stuffed with poly fill.
Front Speakers - Focal Access SG165A1 - lined the pods with fatmat and stuffed with poly fill. Had to use the focal tweeter grills in factory locations..
Soundbar Speakers - Focal Access 165CA1 - Expanding foam filled the soundbar around the dome light and fiberglassed the speaker pods to stiffen the enclosure and poly filled. Actually the mid bass sounds very good now.
Steering Wheel controls - PAC - RP4 - CH11
No problems with batter at all, even with the ignition off.

Fairly clean install BUT why are there fuses right befor the amp, your sapposta fuse the whole power wire from the battery to the amp, not the last 6" leaving the rest of power wire a potential fire hazard, also the amps them selves have fuses so its kinda redundant having the fuses that close to the amp. Also what with your clump of power and ground wires "T" off and tapped up. They make distribution blocks for that purpose.
