Second outlet in dash?

there are plenty of "universal" (cigarette) power adapters available that can provide DUAL USB (2.1a) outlets...2.1a are required for larger (tablet) devices
personally i wouldnt want to stuck w/ a device i might have to rewire or replace later - install a universal outlet that can supply 10 or 15 amps of power....and then use "inserts" or adapters (easier to change out or upgrade later).
as for the COOLER...MANY find that using a universal/cigarette adapter does not provide strong enough connection to keep the cooler powered - especially in a trail bouncing (or stiff suspension) jeep.
i would use a more positive "hardwire" connection on the cooler either an SAE plug or a powerlet plug that can deliver the amperage necessary (w/out over heating wires) and wont "jiggle" loose.
ive used powerlet & sae style plugs on my motorcycles & cars for years....on the bikes, the powerlet connections are used to power my heated jacket/gloves & socks....combined they drawl over 130 watts...and the powerlet connection is a positive "grip" connection that never comes loose (unless you forget to disconnect as you step away from bike)....they handle the power & provide some safety/convenience over an SAE connection.
powerlets are available in water proof connections as well.

Gentlemen- I appreciate the feedback. The problem is that I don't want to have four 12v outlets in back. My cooler is an igloo that isn't extreme; decent size, was like $120, and runs perfectly on a standard 12v outlet. I only use it 2-3 times a year on road trips. I am a former BMW motorcycle guy; have used both powerlet devices and SAE plugs, both which I like. It just seems weird to line up four 12v outlets that won't be used much. But, we do one 10 hour road trip and one 14 hour road trip each year, so round trip requires enough juice for the gear. What I'd really like is two 12v standard outlets, then two very small USB outlets that are kind of hidden. That's why I was going to put those down on the sides of the cup holders. Would like to find a small rectangle jack with a nice rubber cover. So that's my thoughts. I still need to finalize my rugged ridge a pillar install, the rear interior dome light, my rear led fog lights, etc., before tackling this. But I appreciate the feedback and if you see any small 2.1 amp plugs, please let me know.

ive been known (in my super duty) to hide the extra outlets UNDER the seat....i HATE a bunch of wires all over the place.
when i do long road trips (18-20 hrs) my passengers can plug into the outlets unde their seats...they can bring their own charger/cord
and i dont have to look at a rats nest of wires cluttering up my vehicle.
