RMS Express with AN/PRC-74
This maybe a little geeky but I got my Military AN/PRC-74 HF USB (2-12MHz) Special Forces man-pack radio to work with RMS Express (Winlink software using winmor protocol) to send an email across HF. My message went Nashville, TN to Richmond, IN where it was transferred to the internet for delivery. This technology is great for getting the message through went all normal infrastructure is down. I use this for both ARES and MARS.
I had to make a cable for my Buxcomm RASCAL (soundcard modem). The PRC-74 use a standard U-229 connector. I have the PINOUTs if anyone needs them.
I already had this capability in the JK with my Alinco DX-70 and my ham shack with my Kenwood TS-450Sat. The nice thing about the RASCAL is having different connection cables for my radios without having to buy multiple RASCALs. This can also be don with the Tigertronics Signal-link but you would have to figure out the PINOUTS for it.
