Default Reverse lights

I have searched on multiple occasions and can not find what I'm looking for. I was in a thread once that mentioned plugging 50 watt halogen bulbs into the stock reverse lights. Obviously this is an attempt to get more light to back up, without wiring in another set of lights.

Has anyone done this? Thanks.

Changing the OEM reverse lamps to anything but "maybe" LED's is a bad idea. And probably will not work anyway. Just add extra lights ( on a relay ).

I have thought about taking the stock fog lights and putting them in the stock rear bumper. But, I also have a steel front bumper that doesn't take fog lights.

What about tapping LED lights into the reverse light wires?

Anyone try one of the "line of fire" light bars? They are a plug in and function as reverse, brake and blinkers. The space right above the rear bumper looks like a perfect place to mount one.

I'd destroy this so fast, one good drop off a ledge and WHAM gone. Wire some LED's into the rear lights and you'll be good.

Getting things to work. And making it last for a long time without causing other problems are two different things. The reverse light circuit isn't designed to handle much ( if any ) additional load.

i'm keen to get more rear light...i only have one reversing light...too dim...

that delta bar is too much money and too low...kills the depart angle...

i think extra lights and a relay are the way to go...
mounted where is my problem...inside the bumper somehow i guess...
as on top of it would allow the tailgate to wipe them out when opening...

anyone got a good looking location for extra rear mounted lights ... ???
