This is only thing I can figure. Thanks for the reply!

Edit: just looked at the factory fogs and they are 42 watt. I guess the system just sees an overcurrent and shuts them off.

What did you end up doing to fix this? I tried to install a pair of Hella 500 55 Watt lights today and have the same issue. The lights come on for a second then shut off. If anyone else has an idea about the easiest way to fix this I would greatly appreciate it.

Installed the Rigid Dually lights using the factory wires over a month ago, lots of run time and no issues as of yet.

Just a note... for those doing this, unless there's a fix to keep the fogs on with the highbeams (I don't know if there is, I haven't looked into it), you're aware that you're driving lights will go off when you turn your highbeams on - right?
Yeah I know they will go off with the high's

That's what I figured about the lights and the relay. I guess at least the hella kit I picked up came with a relay. What is the best way to wire this? Can the Ground's on the hella's stay tied to the grounds on the factory fog lights. Then just splice a relay into the power wire from the factory lights to the power on the hella's and run a wire back to the battery with an inline fuse?

So if I understand this correctly:

86 is tapped into the power supply comming from the switch factory power line?
85 goes to ground...do you find a new ground or tap the factory ground wire?
87 do you tap the lamp ground to the ground wire or to the frame?

Thanks but my question was about the JK wires. I think one is striped and the other is solid. Do you know which is ground and which is power?

Cut the wiring to your OE fog lights.
86 would be spliced into the ( + ) wire comming from the TIPM. I don't know which is which either. Use a test light.
85 to ground. I'd say find a new ground.
87 goes to the new ( 12 volt + ) wire on your new lights. Since this is a new additional system - use a new ground.

Thanks, I'm going to give this a try today. My Saturday was spent dealing with a unruly rear body armor bumper.
