Will replacement lights of lower wattage (such as the dually D2's) work in place of the stock fogs on a 2011? With the new electrical system in the 2011 will it support them or just sense the difference and trigger a fault? Thanks!

Usually the problem is when installing higher wattages. Not lower.

I put LED bulbs in mine and they are much brighter than before.
Pattern looks a little strange though....

I just replaced my stock 24 watt fogs with 55 watt driving lights in the factory location, spliced into the factory wires, still operated by the factory switch. To my surprise, it works perfect with zero flickering and it reallllllly helps light up the sides of the road. I haven't gotten flashed once yet because I have them aimed pretty good.

I put a procomp LED lightbar on my 2012 and hooked it up to the factory fog light wire, no relay necessary and it works fine.

so can you simply wire the rigid duallys into the factory fog harness's, or is there some wire splicing needed? I want to put my duallys on the factory fog switch, but the wires they come with are so nice, I don't just want to cut them up to splice into the taps

I'm curious as to how this works too. I understand and can add my own wiring and relay, but I have factory fogs and added a new stubby.

So my problem is I added 2 smaller 55w lights, spliced into factory fog wiring and the lights when turned on do come on for a second then back off. I think the factory fogs are around the same watt? Anyone know for sure the color wiring? I used black to black and from the jeep orange to red.
*problem is they will not stay on......

I know little about electrical, but I had a similar issue and it turned out to be a wattage didn't match up. I would check that again.
