Recommend an inverter

Are you looking for one you can install for long term? IF so I have the Scosche PI-350 and love it. Can get it for under $100 online easily. I have it under my passenger seat on top of an amp. Has it's own fans, turns on or off if hooked to interior power like the radio, and has 2 outlets. Never has let me down.

I have a Schumacher PI-750. I grabbed this one from a Rural King store, I've seen them in O'reilly auto parts stores and Tractor supply. My department has been using this particular model for years. Very reliable and has a low battery alarm. I don't have it permanently mounted, I move it from vehicle to vehicle depending on the need. It comes with a 12v cigar plug to power it and instructions to mount it. I've run TV's, computers, even a small microwave with it. I think I paid around $50.00.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for the replies. I am looking for something to mount in the trunk area. It would be used for camping recharging cell phones, computers etc. Saw a Cobra on Ebay for $100 but I figured I would get some opinions first.

Pure sine costs more but electronics like the power much better. Also, the occasional electronic device won't work at all on the inexpensive type.

When I bought my Jeep mine was towards the back of the rear seat since someone had the same idea you do. I moved mine though since I removed the back seat.

I use a 750 watt/1500 watt peak inverter from Harbor Freight. If you search for 66817 on their site you will find it. I clip it onto the battery terminals. I've used it for an air pump, drill, etc.

If your on a budget. Then the first thing you need to do before you start shopping different makes and models is try and determine how much power you will need. The power requirements for each device should be listed. Keep in mind to add together power requirement of equipment that may be used at the same time. I.E; DVD & Monitor. Once you have an idea of how much power that you will need, then you can begin shopping. I would try to find one that is just a little larger than what you think that you may need. You can never have to much. But, the bigger the inverter, the faster it will drain the battery. And the bigger invertrs are more costly and difficult to install.
