both.

stock paper cone speakers dont hit very hard.

stock radio is made to limit the sound to soundbar due to the speakers being close to the heads of passengers.

6.5s will fit.

i am in the process of gathering my system parts together.

i have the speakers from my previous car, an amp to power them, bought a new headunit from crutchfield, got an amp for the sub and now im just waiting to pick up a sub, some plug and play speaker adapters from crutchfield and some polyfill. oh and the wiring for the amps.

Changing only the rear speakers to a better quality speaker will help in "sound quality" only, but not in volume. THe stock head-unit limits the out-put to the rears.
I changed the rears prior to changing out the head-unit, and the sound was better, but not the volume.

6.5 inch speakers will fit. However, the stock mounting brackets use 3 mounting holes, after-market speakers normally use 4.

I put JL Audios 6.5" all the way around (components in the front position)...and it sounds superb. People are right though...change your head unit for increased volume and punch. Throwing in a dedicated amp to power JUST the speakers is also a great addition as well.
