Default Radio swap

I have the standard radio in my 2015 jku that has Bluetooth. Buying a factory touch screen that has navigation. This will just plug right in and work correct? and what do i need to do to get the navigation to work?

The newer jeeps have a single antenna that handles Sirius and the navigation piece. I've got a friend who had a 2015 and we swapped in a navigation unit from another year. We had that same radio in my 2010 and the navigation didn't work (not the right antenna).

You'll need the anti-theft code.

And holy sheyat have fun with that! I just swapped radios and it took and act of Congress to get that code. I called about every dealer in the DFW metroplex and got all kinds of feedback. Chrysler has made it damn near impossible to get these codes through most dealers. I found one that simply said send me the serial number, proof of ownership, and your vin and it will take me 2 minutes. I had other dealer parts managers telling me they could go to jail and i needed to show up in person with the previous owner and we both needed to show proof of ownership and blah blah blah. What an ordeal.

It's funny you mention your experience with it Russ. I've put my second or third stock radio in now and I've heard anywhere from two minutes to get the code to $50 diagnostic. The first radio I bought, the guy gave me his VIN, full name, and address. I called the dealer with that info and was bounced aaround a bit. I got frustrated and called another dealer and they were able to get it for me in less than 5 minutes. My secret there is call the parts dept and not service.

Every single dealer told me something different. The guy I found most helpful said the proof of ownership was simply for the new vehicle, not from the donor vehicle. That didn't make much sense to me since it doesn't prevent the radio from having been stolen, but oh well. Chrysler is protecting these things like their a brick of gold which is pretty stupid. I was told by almost every dealership that the only person that could help was the actual parts manager, and that the rules had changed roughly 6 months ago.

OP, if you have any issues with the code, PM me and I'll send you the guys email that helped me out at dealership in my area.
