That is odd, my 2009 won't accept the I pod cable connected to any Apple products too. Any chance that a 2008 stereo unit was installed in it? It does everything else, radio, phone, DVD, navigation, satelite radio but no connection to the I Pod. Got the same odd message when I plug it in as well. I'd be partially happy if I can use it for my I Phone so that I can charge it.
