Does anyone or everyone have to have the dealer Starscan your vehicle after you replace the RES (or other) radio with MyGig (RER) in order for it to be recognized?

Any experiences related would be appreciated.

 

Nope you can just plug it in and go. You'll have to call Sirius and switch your service over to the new head unit, they may require the SN so write it down. I can't remember for sure which number but when I switched head units the first time I had to read them some number off the top.
