Default Question on Kicker KS 65 sound bar install

I have read a few posts about sound bar speaker replacements. I bought some Kicker KS65 replacements and upon installing one of them, I thought about comparing It to the stock speaker. They didn't sound that much better than the stock infinity speakers. I realized that the Kickers are 4 ohm and I've been reading that the stock set up is 2 ohm. Is that a reason why I'm not having a phenomenal experience that others rave about? Is everyone else buying a 2 ohm speaker replacement? I got the speakers for $77 and im thinking that the increased quality is not $77 worth. Any thoughts, advice, or guidance out there? Thanks in advance for any replies. P.S. I have a 2011 Unlimited sport

P.s.,

P.a.

Ive been doing a lot of research on this myself.... From what I have come across on this forum is the Kicker 77kick10 is the speaker you want.. I believe its a Mopar plug and play deal. They can be found for around $60 or $70 a pair.... I also came across a thread that suggested the Boston Acoustic speakers out of the Chrysler's, part number on that is 5081670AB, those can be found as low as $26 each.... I have only had my Jeep about two weeks and have not made up my mind, but if you try either of these speakers let us know how it goes...... I have a 13 with the 430 head unit and the alpine system, but Im not overly happy with its audio performance...

Guys/gals not to leave anyone out! I had the stock infinity premium system along with the 430 nav/sat /bluetooth etc in my 12 and had read the posts on upgrading speakers ..specially the one about the oem boston acoustics...I was a little skeptical specially because they are cheap. I bit the bullet and purchased all 4 for front and sound bar . After comparing them ..they did not look any better than the infinities except they have a cone on them whereas the infinities did not ...I polly filled the enclosures and installed all of them and WOW!!!!! Major MAJOR difference!!!! I could not believe how much it added to the system ..overall punch was coming from the whole set up and even the sub which I did nothing too.... came alive. I don't know why they are so much better but believe me it is well worth the coin. These speakers smoke infinities and probably a lot more ....The system sounds like I dumped a few grand in upgrades when all I did was pay 120 for the oem plug and play BA's
I can not stress enough what an easy and painless not to mention cheap upgrade this is. It literally took me an hour to install all four and that was because I was in the dark installing the fronts in the driveway and had to keep turning on the overhead when it went out. I was so impressed with the rears that I had to attempt all four even though it was almost dark out. then after installing I sat in the driveway listening to some of my fav tunes. It really is that much better!! ..The first Guy to do this was Blade and he had the base system and for what ever reason he blazed a trail to step out of the box and try these speakers resulting in an overall incredible upgrade to any system. Like I stated I had the Infinity premium and it sounded ok but these speakers bring it above and beyond with punch clarity and a sweet fn sound.

BA speakers: 5081670AB

I just completed this upgrade TODAY. I paid $33/ea. Some said too much, but it was/is list price. Replaced all four stock Infinity speakers (premium sound on my 2009 JKU). Huge improvement in quality without having to go super loud. Hi-end volume is also awesome. Thanks to Blade in the post which is linked below.

BTW: The front driver's speaker access is a major PITA. Read several posts on that, but especially:

So I went with the Kicker upgrade. Installd and realized I wasted my money. I learned that the kicker ks65 is a 2 ohm speaker and that is why...i.e. the jeep system is two ohm and you don't get all the power out of a 4 ohm speaker. So I returned the kickers and bought, for much less money, the Boston accoustics from my local, dealer. (Got them for $27 a speaker). Installed all four and Polly filled the sound bar and front dash speaker boxes. Like mention above, I too had the I find system and didn't like it and with much skepticism, I installed the BA's and all I can say is WOW! I'm honestly shock they sound that good. Easy to install, P&G and play. You should give it a try. Good luck.
