Default Question for choosing lught.

I have been reading a lot and hear how you can't see as far with LED, if you get the to blue HID's it's harder to see as far also. So my question is my wife has a hard time driving at night what is the best light out there rather it be standard bulb, LED, or HID head light and fog lights.

Your best bet for your wife's night blindness would be a standard bulb up-grade. HID's would be a good option too. But they might be a PITA to retrofit.

You might also look at going with an aftermarket harness.

Im going to try the new harness with my phillips bulbs in the stock housing.

I will post up before and after photos as well. I think clean power to the bulbs will make a big difference.

Funny coincidence, this just popped up ad a Facebook post by Jeep 4x4 Responder. This pic was taken from trucklite's web page displaying the difference between the halogen and the LED's for distance, pretty noticeable difference if you ask me.

For JK4x4wrangler's post:
To be fair, you have to consider where the lights are aimed.
Look at the photo for the incandescent bulbs and you'll see that the road near the vehicle is "washed out", so most of the light is aimed pretty close. Not the case with the Truck Lites; they are aimed further up the road.

Not making a case for one or the other; just want to point out that it's not "apples to apples" based on the photos

obviously truck lites website would make theirs look better. I can't get past the fact of two things with the LED setups, 1. no heat to melt crap off in winter, and 2. the light flicker.

The OE headlights don't do that great of a job keeping themselves clear of ice and snow. Not like the old school seald beams. And the flicker problem can be solved.
