i think it would be cool to put the srt-10 truck push button start in the jeep.
no real reason besides it would be pretty sweet.

It's just another one of those random things we come up with, sitting on the computer at night. . .

I recently posted on a camaro forum how to do that on an old gm style ignition. Since a remote start is essentially the same thing, it could definately be done. To do it without a key, you would need a bypass module to take care of the rf, and actually i am thinking as long as you provide it with the right signals via relays, that one single button could take care of it all, including the mux wire. Possibly just one ignition switch and one push button would be all you would use to operate it. Obvious security would be an issue there but...

Yeah, I thought the push button start on my '51 Chevy was pretty cool, because on my previous vehicle I had to step on a switch on the floor! Then came this new system where the whole start sequence was done with one twist of a key.

I could see a hidden button being a good, top off security, idea you know the key want start the Jeep unless you push the button. But, it'd also be kind of a pain in the ass for me.

I've been wanting to do this. Just to be different. I knew a few guys that installed push button starters, but as a safety and security feature they would install two toggles, one to actually start the engine and one to power the starter toggle, lol.

It was like starting up a helicopter.

This site sells push button starts that will not longer need the key if you install a bypass module. Uses RFID to identify the key fob and release security provisions.
