I just put the db6501 components in the dash, and WOW! What a difference. NO BRACKETS OR WIRING HARNESSES NEEDED and you can get them on amazon for $108 free shipping. My db651s will be here next week.

The install was easy. I pulled out the boxes. Ran the new wiring thru the factory grommet. Broke off all unnecessary tabs on the factory box and Polk adapter plates. Put a bead of rtv black between the adapter and box and screwed them together. Filled the box w/polyfil. Installed speakers.

For the tweeters I glued the Polk pod into the factory one. I like how it looks and my dremel crapped out, so I didn't want to wait to fab the holes to fit.

I just got my speakers installed and you won't need those brackets you talk of. They didn't even need the brackets that came with the speakers. ( Polk mm 6.5" alpine amp 5 channel for stock infinity sub)
The sound is awesome, but you can still tell the roll bar speakers are restricted, compared to front. Being I still have factory deck. But very happy with it.
