Polk db651 Installation
I took advantage of the great sale @ $39/pair on Amazon for these speakers to replace my non-infinity stockers.
For those who have already completed this installation:
What additional installation gear do I need?
Brackets?
Wiring harnesses?
Where can I get this stuff besides Bestbuy or Crutchfield? Do I need it?
I assume one can splice into the speaker wiring without a harness, correct?
Will the included brackets that come with the speakers work with the stock locations? How much "fabrication" is required to make them fit?
Thanks for the information!

I just did Polks MM651's in the front and they bolted right in. There is a write up on here somewhere about removing the pods in the dash (it helps). That by far is the hardest part in replacing the speakers. I also put some Dynomat inside the pod and stuffed it with polyfil. Sounds great. If you planning on putting the stock speakers back in some day then get the speaker adaptors if not then just cut them off and crimp on your new connections. Good Luck.

i have the db coax in the rear and component up front on a diamond audio amp. they scream most people complain that the treble is to loud. If you get a seperate amplifer just make sure you go with a high quality one it makes all the difference.

Changed out front speakers
I just got finished swapping out the front speakers. WHAT A PAIN IN THE A$$!!!! The driver side sucked passenger side was easy. Tried to install a set of Boston Acoustics but even being 6.5 they were too small. I will be doing this again once I can make up some adapters. I think I am going to add my polk amp for the mids and highs.

I'm doing db6501 in the dash and db651s in the roll bar... I love some more info too!!! Crutch field is way overpriced. I can all 6 of the speakers for $160 off Amazon.
