Polk Audio 5000.5 amp for entire sounds system?
I'm looking at doing a complete swap of the infinity system in my 2012, and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Polk PA 5000.5 amp?
I'm looking at putting in some Polk 650 and 6500's along with an 8" JL Sub, and a Pioneer X940BT head unit, and I'm wondering if going with one amp to power everything is going to have drawbacks compared to a separate amp for the sub, as many have done here?

I don't see a drawback. I'm running the JLAudio hd 900/5 with my system and it sounds as good as a jeep could sound. I have put together many different systems over time and I can say that the only thing I can think of is if you really wanted a lot of power separate amps may be better. I'm not sure what the specs are on the Polk amp you are installing but I can tell you that the hd 900/5 had plenty of power for my needs. I'm running Boston pro up front and a jl 12w6 in the back.

I'm in the process of my audio upgrade also. I've been studying a lot of stuff in preperation for this event. I decided to go with seperate amps ( 1- 4 channel and 1 - Mono ) because.
The 5 channel amps are bigger ( think about mounting locations ).
If you have a problem. You have to replace / repair the whole amp.
Just my $0.02

I run a 5 channel MTX Jackhammer without issue and it puts out more power than I can stand sometimes.
I run the factory tweeters (crossed over to 8khz), factory front dash, Sony Xplode's overhead and Kenwood 12" sub mounted to the rear gate. No issues.

I have the polk db6500 components in the dash (dynamat and polyfill in the pods) polks in the soundbar with polyfill and dynamat and a JL10w3 in a custom box on the tailgate. I'm running it all off of an Alpine PDX-5 that I have mounted under the stearing column. It's a tight fit but it will go in there. I'm happy with the sound quality of this set up even with the top off. I didn't expect it to sound as good as it does.
For reference, I'm comparing this set up to the the system in my Vette which is a set of Focal components and a JL stealthbox (10w3) running off of a Kicker 650.4.
