Phase 7 truck lite pro's and con's
Ok I've been trying to do as much research as possible on these lights and keep getting caught up in all the chatter with other lights (jw speakers and projectors) or the old phase 6. I'm really wanting to do this light upgrade but want to get all the facts and reviews so can lay it all out for the wife because she thinks its nuts paying around $500 for headlights. Thanks for the help and pictures of night driving would be greatly appreciated

Pro:
They're very well made lights and they fit well.
The output is pretty great - bright, wide beam spread and good color temp (the High Beams are really good).
They'll last a really long time, you'll probably never have to replace them.
Con:
Make sure you buy the wire harnesses that convert the connector on the back of the TL to the proper connector on your stock harness (they're not included).
Some people notice a slight flicker (caused by the Jeep's CAN Buss, not the lights). IF you notice it and IF it bothers you, you can buy number of different harness solutions. There is a little bit of an "X" pattern at the far end of the beam - it never bothered me but it's not a Pro so I listed it in the Cons.
Virtually no heat comes out the front of these lights. I live in the Northeast and need my headlights to melt snow and slush while driving in snow on the highway so in the winter I take out the TLs and put in my OEMs with SilverStars.
All in all, I like them.

I have them and love them!
Other pros:
They are DOT approved.
They do not blind other drivers like many of the aftermarket HID kits. If I had a nickel for every dumb-ass running around with illegal lighting in Los Angeles I could retire a rich man.
Cons- slight flicker at idle, TruckLite now makes their own harness to reduce flicker. I have a set arriving in the next day or so and will report back.

I may get slapped/banned for saying this, but there's a headlight shootout over on JKOwners.com that has all the info you'd ever want to know about the TruckLites and other headlights to help make your decision. Having seen them first-hand from the person that reviewed them, the TruckLites are a good option if you're looking to upgrade from the crappy factory lighting. But for the money, a set of HID Projectors is better. Better light output, greater distance, and plenty of customization available. I compared my HID Projectors side by side with the TruckLites and my HID's just flat out projected light further. Up close, there really wasn't much difference between the two. But once you start getting further out, the difference in light output between the two was pretty noticeable. Now I will say that if I were looking for LED's, then the TruckLites would be my choice because I can't get past the physical appearance of the JW Speakers. They look like something you'd see on a beater-ass civic with a hug wing, obnoxious body kit and spinners at a Hot Import Nights car show. But that's just my opinion.

Thank guys and I understand about the jw speakers on looks and they are double the price. I live in north Louisiana so if we get any type of snowy weather they shut the city down since we have no salt for the bridges. I was looking at projectors but it just seemed like a lot of hassle on the do it yourself side and having them custom made seems that way as well. I may notice a flicker but the wife may not if so I can always get a harness.

Understood, we've all been there at some point. From a quality perspective you can't go wrong with the TLs. Find member in your area who owns the TLs (there must be someone) and go check them out first hand. Worst case is you don't like them and you move on, no money spent except a little gas.

Why would that happen? I think you're flashing back to days gone by on this forum. Good info is good info no matter where it's posted. Besides, it's not what you say it's how you say it. You weren't being a troll or a dick so I doubt the mods would take any action at all.
