I definatly want a light upgrade to my factory lights. I've been watching this kit develop as a more economical and easier to install solution than the Stern kits. If the harness issue gets sorted I think I'll be ordering this. Not terribly crazy about how blue the light is, would have prefered yellow.

The IPF harness needs the trim. All of the 07-08 models need the trim. I have a 09 and expected everything to plug up with no issues or modification. Unfortunately, I had to trim the IPF harness for my 09 model.

I spoke to Seth (ARB) this morning and he also seemed surprised. With that said, Seth has me on the list to receive a new harness. Plus, I see no issue with the zip ties and the electrical tape I used for a temporary fix. The lights look great and work great. I blinded everyone coming to work this morning!!!!!

David (Northridge) & Seth (ARB) have handled this minor issue with complete understanding and a valued fix. Thanks again guys!

x2 all I read is some guy quoting things he read on the internet to bust soem chops, but nothing that proves why he is an expert. Just because you read something on the internet doesn't make it true.

I'm the senior facility administrator in a test and measurement equipment training lab. LC/GC-MassSpec, O-scopes, etc. When Mr Hewlett and Mr Packard started the company, lighting was one of their early focuses.

I tried to be as nice as possible and post in an understandable way for lay people.

I have a 09- my experience was similar except I did not have to trim anything, but the harness does not click and hold- it will only stay together with zip ties. The lights are nice quality and the wire loom seems nice but the factory adapter is not quite right. There is a triangular lock on the plug that engages the red lock tab on the green jeep harness. I think that the triangle is too long on the new loom and the red catch won't work. How do I get on the list for replacement looms? The current ones leave me feeling like its a little rube Goldberg like ( the wire ties are the only thing holding it all together)

Congratulations on your outstanding job. I’m the janitor at a sewage company.

My point is you quoted a lot of information not based on the facts of this product. The way this information was quoted seemed to question a company’s integrity without simply asking if your points had been considered in the course of this products production.

I started by asking specific questions about the kit; the answers led to more questions, each one leading to conclusions.
I had/have no intentions of bashing David or Northridge. But, as a Jeeper and member of the Jeeping community at large, I'm trying to give information to people.
As far as the specific product goes, they could've made much better choices. This is my opinion on the product, a reasonably informed one. I'm not a lighting specialist; I'm an electronics generalist.
As with all advice, take it or leave it. I sincerely hope that David takes it, provides a better (but less trendy/colorful) bulb and a proper harness that routes power to the assembly via relays from the battery.

This is the best kit for the money ARB could come up with for the price . Nobody has ever said these are the best lights money can by.

A new harness that gavce us the ability to run a higher wattage bulb would add approx 100-150 dollars to the price.

I think we are all clear on the fact that you dont like the kit and I accept that .

We have shipped a lot of these kits and for the most part everybody is very happy with the kit. Sorry the kit does not live up to your expectations.

David

My 09 had the same problem, all you have to do is trim a millimeter or two from the trianglar piece and it will lock in, don't need the zip ties or a new harness, took less than 30 seconds for each side.
