Installed some flood lights as my headlights. I saw this online and I fell in love with it and had to do it for myself.

Here are the lights I used Robot Check

 

Those look completely illegal. With no reflector in those headlights directing the light down on the road, you're going to be blinding everyone. Don't be surprised when other drivers flash their high beams at you. I hope I don't ever drive past you on a dark single lane highway with no shoulder.

On public roads? Quick way to cause an accident or get a healthy ticket.

 

So how do you get High and Low beam? Those only have one setting, really bright with no light direction.

Good news is that NO inspector would pass those as DOT headlights and NY cops are not the most forgiving when it comes to this sort of thing.

Those lights would look good mounted on the bumper however.

 

I know they are illegal however, I live on Staten Island (aka the dump) and everyone here drives with either their high beams on at all times( and do not respond when you flash at them to turn them off) or they drive with super bright HIDs. Its kind of hard to tell from the photos but they are not as bright as the brightest HID headlights and the beam is more narrow than you think. Yes they are birght, Yes they are illegal, but they are no where near as bad as HIDs.

I'm also looking into something similar to this but with a higher amp rating. http://www.amazon.com/KEEDOX%C2%AE-C.../dp/B00A71E52G. I have ran these lights on my bench power supply and they emit way less light at a lower voltage. That is going to be my solution to the brightness. Ill wire them so the "low" beams are 9v and the "high" beams are the full 12v. If all else fails there Ill keep the lower voltage and tint the lights themselves

They are sold as off road and work lamps only. BUT HEY it's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.......or you end up killing someone on the road.
Might want to go upstairs and ask mommy if she thinks it's a good idea You on the other hand may be the solution to world overpopulation. OR the guy that realizes that this is a bad idea and puts them on the bumper for off road use only. Your choice. I'll be watching the 11:00 news to see what happens in your hood dude.

I live in a different continent than you so I'm in no danger of passing you at night time however please do every one else a favor and put your stock headlights back in and use these as auxiliary off road spot lights. It is not about the brightness but how they project the light. This is the difference between headlights and spot lights. Do some research on this and you will understand why.

 

You know you know you know..... And you say you live in a dump with a bunch of a**holes(apparently) ..... So why do you want to be one????? Loser mentality and reasoning brother!!!!

 

Bad idea. Don't be another a-hole with improper, poorly aimed headlights, blinding people on the roads. The idea that people aren't blinded, because they don't bright light you is wrong. My father wouldn't flash you, because he's too busy trying to find the road.
