Sears Diehard Platinum (Model P1)

They are made in the same factory as the Optima by Johnson Controls in Missouri and is a better battery.

My winch pulls great,

I have a yellow top for a year. I love it. Winch, some lights and stereo. I have parked my jeep for 7hrs blasting music and it has never died. I would recommend it to anyone I know.

Honestly, I was waiting for someone else...like yourself....to chime in about the Odyssey/Diehards because I didn't want to be the one to break up the Optima love vibe that was going on in this thread.

You won't. All three of the brands referenced here are very good.

This is incorrect.
Optima are manufactured by Johnson Controls, while Sears DieHard Platinum is in fact manufactured by EnerSys.

This is correct. Enersys makes the Odyssey and also the "Platinum" series of Die-hard batteries. Most will say they're the same battery except for the Die-Hards cost less.

Odyssey:
PC1500 T - Odyssey batteries
Diehard Platinum
DieHard Platinum Automotive Battery - Group Size 34 (Price with Exchange) - Automotive - Batteries - Car Batteries

Not to hijack, but if one were to use a dual battery setup, would using a starting battery for primary and a deep cycle for lights, winch, etc. work? Obviously assuming the dual battery relay and wiring were used and installed correctly. Those with the DHP, how often do you use the winch and how well does it hold up? Thanks guys!
