MYGIG update CD from chrysler
#11
sorry guys, I guess that statement was misleading. I copied all my music to a dvd and then loaded into the MyGig. At first I was going to reload individually back into the MyGig, then questioned myself. What if this happens again? Chrysler told Harmon Becker to back off sending out updates. I think back in April or May was when H/B sent out the last updates. Like BelgianJK says MOFV is the best source out there now for MyGig bar none. This site also has H/B's number and MyGig schematics and pin outs.

I filed a bug with HB regarding the data loss. You should have noticed that your content is consuming drive space. You need to 'delete all files' from the touch screen to reclaim the used space. Otherwise, the overall available will not be available to you, even after you re-import your content.
The same bug exists when you upgrade from 713 to 715.

I just tried to call this number, and got connected with a representative that (I'll try to say this nicely) did not sound like they were residing in the US. I told him that I was interested in getting SW updates for the MyGig system in my Jeep Wrangler, and he gave me a number to call, referred to as the "MyGig Customer Service Number".
I call this number, and they are really the Alpine Electronics customer service number. OK... I played dumb and asked about MyGig updates anyway, but they didn't know what MyGig was. Once I told them that I had a Jeep and I thought that Harmon Becker was the manufacturer, they agreed that I was misled.
I'll try again later on, but I hope that I don't get such non-helpful service from Chrysler again. I also hope that they are not contracting their customer service overseas...

harry you must have talked to the same rep i talked to. i've seen him before in a picture from India. he's sitting on a bicycle using a cell phone and a laptop while pedaling his bike for power. got the same story. can't help you. but here call this number. excuse me mam, the number you just gave me to call is the same number i dialed to call you, it's on the letter. argues with me about the number. Oh well here call this number it's for mygig customer support. Hello, welcome to Alpine. Alpine guy tells me that 2 or 3 years ago they used to supply Chrysler with radios. evidently that news didn't get across the pond yet. screw this sh*t, I'm keeping my .715 in till I here better.
