sounds like the Mygig is for you. I cannot testify that it is like that for everyone, but in my Jeep you just have to pull out the plug and antenna from the single and plug them plus the GPS antenna in the mygig. Bolt it up and drink a beer admiring it. It is hands down the easiest nav install ever. Even the GPS antenna is in a super simple location. Just make sure to get the right model Mygig, and remember it takes a little while for the Jeep and the mygig to get on the same page. They do it on their own though.

Thanks for clearing that up!

I've been hitting eBay and I'm a bit confused. I've got an '07 Wrangler Sahara and I can't seem to get the straight dope on which unit would work. I called a couple dealers who couldn't give me straight answers, either. I've heard no MyGig's work on ANY '07 JK, MyGig's work on '07 JK's but they have to be the low speed BUS version, and that all JK's are high speed BUS. Any help would be appreciated.

I bought my 2007 Sahara off the lot in July 2007 and it came from the factory with the mygig installed. I don't know if it's a low speed or high speed bus.

The dealer should be able to tell you based on your VIN number. Has anyone on this site actually plugged in a working mygig and it not work in a Jeep, or is this all rumor? My Jeep is supposed to be some weird bus that as between high and low called can bus C or something. I have no idea. I think someone should do a poll of mygig owners on what year they have and what model was used. sort out some b.s. I am lucky I have a Guru friend that helped me.

All Jeep wranglers (07, 08, 09 etc.) require the high speed can bus. I just posted a separate thread in this same area of the forum with a link to all the info you need to know.

Okay, so instead of asking which units work, what units would not work? Have they changed them at all between the years or do latter models simply come with newer software? A dealer told me an AH and AK wouldn't work, but eBay has several of them that all say they're compatible with the '07.

the letters on the end are just the revision isnt it? I thought it was the model number that worked? I know for a fact that you cannot use the same one in every model Jeep. Otherwise I would not have mine.

Sorry I disappeared from the tread for a while but like BigBlue stated the install was simple. It took me 15 minutes top to do the install, I ordered the lockpick and it came a few days later, it took me under 10 minutes to remove the MyGig and install the lockpick. The hardest part was fitting all the wires in the back of the unit, i had to mess with that at least 4 or 5 times before getting it right. I bought the RER unit which was MyGig with Nav/high speed bus for 07-08 model years. I would definitely double check it but the seller (on ebay) told me exactly which unit to buy and even through in the uconnect mic. He also sent me instructions on enabling the uconnect module. I have video while moving now and the unit came with the latest software.

My biggest complaint with the system is the way the MyGig unit handles playlists are pretty stupid but all in all i love the unit.

Well, I took the plunge and ordered one off eBay. E-mailed back and forth with the seller and he guarantees the unit he's selling me will work in my Wrangler. Should have it in a day or so.

good luck let us all know if it works, and what model it is. I hope ou didn't listen to some half-wit telling you that all the wranglers use the same one!
