Default Mygig Lockpick

I'm looking at purchasing a lockpick but have not really read anything positive or negative about it. I would like to hear from people that have it and what their experience has been so far, even customer service from them, but more importantly does it work and is it worth it?

I have one and I'm very happy with it. I purchased it through nav and tv2go on eBay for $199shipped, which is far less than the $325 Coastal wanted for the same package. I added a front and rear cam as well, as well as headrest monitors for the little guy, all of it works great together. Since it also unlocked DVD in motion for my wife on long trips and nav in motion, it has been very worth the money. I'd highly recommend it.

With your lockpick do your Bluetooth cell phones work? Does the uconnect work for hands free diving? My friend just bought a 2010 and uconnect is active with a trick mic n it that works with the top down fairly well. What's ur experience with that? I can buy the modual from jeep for $300 with the mic but no unlock.

If your mygig is 2008 or newer, didn't see what year you have, the uconnect is available it just needs a software upgrade and a mic added. I have an 08 and I have connected my phone to the mygig now I just need to get a mic. The software to upgrade is free and you can do it yourself.

I've been thinking about the lockpick and some cameras too???

Directions and files are there. Depends on what version of software you have now on what you have to do, so be sure to follow the directions on that site. I just did mine and uconnect was available, you may have to go into the engineering menu to activate it but I didn't have to. It takes a while to update them so make sure you give yourself some time.

I do like were they put the mic on the 2010. I think I am going to buy that pillar molding and install it on my 08. I priced one out at the stealership and it was $35. I'm just not sure if it comes with the mic, but I think it does. The part # is on here somewhere, can't remember who but a member did it to their JEEP. I have part # wrote down if you need it, let me know.

I can't find the headrest monitors I used on eBay anymore, maybe they sold out or something. But they're whole headrest replacements with zippered covers over the monitors so that you don't know they're there. They also have their own built in DVD players, which is cool because I can watch a different movie in the front than in the back, so feed the monitors with the movie from the front so that everyone can watch it.

I went to the dealership for the mic as well, because like I said earlier I think it's really trick. So when I was there we figured out that there are actually 2 parts that are needed. One the mic and the other is another wire to attach the mic to the mygig. You wont need to buy the corner moulding part as the mic I got is from the 2010 and it's a clip in. All you have to do is cut out the current moulding and it clips in. Thanks for the info I upgraded to the latest software and went into engineering mode to get the uconnect working. It's awesome, now for the lock pick and ill be good!!

One other thing is does anyone know where to get map updates for cheeper than what Navtech sells them at ($200 bones, ouch). Free would be nice, you would think that for 200 bones it would be life time upgrades which I would go for that.
