MyGig Disc Drive Toast?

MyGig Disc Drive Toast?
I think I broke the CD/DVD drive in my MyGIG. Has anyone else had any issues?
Here's what happened - I had a CD-R in the drive that's been in there for a week or so. I could see the disc and Gracenotes knew what was on the disc, etc... This weekend my Nav was acting buggy (wouldn't let me enter a POI). I tried switching through different modes to get it to work, and one of the things I did was hit the open/close button. When the screen slid open I pressed the open/close button again - before the disc was ejected. The whole sytem seemed to have a major brain fart and nothing happened. After a couple of seconds I could smell an electric burning smell and I turned the vehicle off for a minute. When I turned the vehicle back on, it allowed me to close the screen, but hasn't aknowledged that there's a disc in there since. If I press open/close, the screen swings down, but nothing happens. I won't let me close it either. I have to wait 15 seconds for it to close on its own. Sirius works fine and the nav works fine again, but obviously no luck on the cd/dvd player.
Is there some way to manually remove the disc (maybe the disc is the problem?). If not, I'll have to make an appointment. I'm pretty sure that the drive is an integral part of the unit so I hope I don't have to have the whole thing replaced. Perhaps the drive motor just burned out.
Anyone else experienced anything like this?

I'd recommend resetting the unit by disconnecting the battery, then it might re-read that it has something in there...that's the only thing I can think of to try...otherwise see the dealer, there might be some sort of key combo that will reset it.

I was sitting in the parking lot and thought of watching a DVD while waiting for time to start work and nothing. Now this happened a couple of day's ago and today I was able to play it and eject it, why? What all you have to ignore you have a problem and the unit plays it when it feels like it?
PS: Just a thought of a solution to this old thread and I did not even disconnected my battery
