i agree is their no other option for disabling the lockout while in motion etc ?? without paying to 200+ already spent so much on the stupid nav just to find out half this does not work when you need it !

I downloaded the gracenotes and Sw update from here:

Also, got an updated SW disc from Jeep at their My Jeep website by typing in my VIN and it came up and said my unit qualified for an update disc for the headunit SW update. Had the iPhone fix on it as well. It was the same SW update I had already downloaded from the MyGig site. Youll still need the gracenotes update though.

Like others said, you have to pay for the Nav (map) updates.

 

To anyone that has done the Gracenote update, I'm in need of some help. I downloaded a software and grace note update from the website linked above. The software update went smoothly. I then burned the grace note DVD (being sure to have only the folder and file in the root directory as the notes say you should), BUT...when I insert this DVD it just says DATA. No prompt to update like the software disk did. Any advice?

 

just bern it by nero and chiose data berning. i face this truble and burn many dvds
but with nero the disc show data then start within 5 seconds.
when u berning put the speed to 2x or 4x (very low speed)

by the way which gracenote u using??????

I got it to work. Ended up using Roxio and all went well. I can't remember the version now, but it was the most current that I found posted on the MYGIG forum. I believe it had come out earlier this year.

 

any way u can check it out on system Info:

mine is RER_2.499 and Gracenote GR883 for middeleast and australia.
For Usa RER Model RER_2.499 and Gracenote GR881

this the Last Update till month ago.

 

I'm running 2.402. Do you know what improvements came with the newer version?

 

Thanks for all the feedback but I don't have a personal computer that I can burn this with. I have only my work laptop which will not let me perform this function. With those limitations, how can I get the actual discs to update my gracenotes and other features that are free to upgrade?

 

Your are updated there no big diffrent between the two softwear the newer is fixing sound issue when mygig is swith off.
if u dont have problem with sound dont update till next version
