Default Mounting a sirius radio antenna on a jk?

so i've got the sirius radio magnetic mount antenna, i tried putting the wire through the hole on the drivers side so i could mount the antenna on my hood, but the plug at the end of the wire was too big to fit through. right now i have it mounted inside but my radio cuts out alot, i put it on top of my hardtop just to see if it'll still cut off, and it worked fine. so bottom line is i need to figure out a way to mount it outside the jeep.

anybody have any opinions of where i could put it? i was thinking about trying to attach it to the tailgate next.

The factory antenna is a magnet mount as well, it mounts over the passengers head on the sound bar.

That's a link to the mopar installation manual for the mopar kit at quadratec. Looks like a pain in the ass, but it's a great location and it's completely hidden!

I mounted mine over the sound bar/roll bar no problems with service or signal.

I WILL fit through the hole...take a wire coat hanger and work a bunch of the foam out to widen the hole. Then tape the coat hanger to the end of the antennae and push it through...took me a while, but i finally got it.

alright so i tried mounting it on the roll bar but it still cuts out, i figured my hardtop must be interfering with the signal somehow.

so today i ran the wire through the tailgate and mounted it next to my tire carrier, the same way i did it with my cb radio coax cable, so hopefully it works now.

Mounted mine on top of roll bar underneath padding. Works fine even with hard top on
