Ported boxes need more volume so porting it would b even worse. Ur common 10s need a minimum of. 75cu and a recommended 1cu of volume while minimum ported on a 10 would b around 1.25. Its best to use a smaller sub with correct airspace. An 8 in its recommended airspace would yeild more output and a deeper sounded bass than a 10 in a small box

The best thing to do is find out the exact airspace the speaker requires. Then take the length X width X height and divide that number by 1728. This will give you your cubic ft measurement. Make sure you use the internal dimentions not external. Also calculate the displacement of the woofer and subtract it from the cubic ft number. You can look online to find this number. And as said a sealed enclosure will be smaller and much easier to build

lol its really simple if u just do a square or rectangle box. heck even a wedge is easy. if u want to do a fiberglass box to fit to the contour of ur fender well like that 8 was done this is just build it how u want it shaped and stick a sub in lol. if ur curious of the cubic foot after its built u can build a 5 sided box with interior dimensions of 6x6x6 which would be .5cu then fill it with sand and pour it into ur fiberglass enclosure repeatedly till its full then add it up. simple as pie huh lol
