Well I have an 08 Sahara. Took the stock sub out and replaced it with a custom box with 2 10's downfiring. Idk if they still make the box but its called a Jeep Jammer Box.

I have 3 in a slot ported box that blow folks away.
I am working on some small sealed boxes to try in different areas of the jeep.
These go on sale every so often. Got them when they were 29 bucks!

Yes no problem. You would need to flare it bigger to accept the sub but you could still keep the main body the same size. Not sure if you could get enough air volume though. Maybe you could port it.
