Line Level Converter

Line Level Converter
OK,
So I have my JL Audio 4-channel amp and new polk speakers (db series front and rear), planning on adding to the stock headunit for now until I upgrade it in the future. So, I've got the non-infinity system and I was planning on adding a line level converter before the amp. Question is, do I need a 2 channel or 4 channel converter? How are the wires split up coming out of the stock headunit?
I'll find out once I get it open, but would like to go ahead and order the part.
Also, from research here on the forum, I believe the soundbar filtering is done in the headunit on the non-infinity system, but I also believe this is just a power filter, such that once the converter strips it down to just signal and it goes through the new amp this won't be an issue anymore?
Thanks.

That is what I did before I decided to add a new HU last weekend. You will need a 4 ch. and an easy thing to do is just trace each wire to the speakers and just tap it right in to the pre existing lines. I put my converter behind the glove box held in with some double sided stick pad stuff (you wont want it moving around at all because LLC's aren't really that great and the terminals for putting the wire in can get lose easily). Good luck with it - PM if you have any questions!
Ill see if I can find the color codes for ya...

ordered
Well, ordered the 4-channel from crutchfield. Much cheaper than anybody locally would have wanted even if they had it, although the unit does look a little flimsy online, oh well.
Thanks for all the advice.
