Default lighting opinion

So i know this has been hashed out multiple ways, but I am thinking of taking a bit of a different route and looking for opinions. I think I may go with KC Slimlights on the A Pillar, Rigid Industry D2's in place of the stock fog lamps in the front bumper and putting two D2's flush mounted in the rear bumper. Thoughts, opinions???

Thanks guys!

What I'm going to say is off-mainstream...

A lot of people install A Pillar lights, either as extra light or for looks or both. I wouldn't.
They glare off the hood, which is a nuisance, and if you point them higher, they point too far.

The Pencle Beams / Spots aren't to bad. Ya they do glare some. Your focus is usually way down the road when these are on anyway. I think that the A-Pilar is a good alternate location for those who don't want Overhead Racks.

I completely agree. I have KC Slim Lite 130w Long Range lights on my A pillar and have very little glare. On my TJ 10 years ago, I had regular daylighters and they put a good amount of glare on the hood. If you have a tight enough focus of light, the glare will be minimized.

I read you.
I just see it differently:
I don't want camera screen glare. I want to see a clear picture.
I don't want gun sight glare, it may put me off target.
In a Jeep, I want to see every bit of the trail, especially at night - lots of shadows - without any distraction.
A far lighting spot is good for high speed. Most of (my) offroading is not high speed.
If an animal jumps into the trail, or there's a new obstacle, a flood light would show 'em better than a narrow long range spot, and hood glare might just be the reason why, for instance, I won't see a 70 pound grey wild boar in front of me, due to lack of contrast.

I don't understand why they don't make them with some small plate, protruding at the bottom, which would mask the hood. This can be easily improvised, though.

Bottom line - as many tastes as there are people...

So what about the thought of putting KC long range on the a pillar and the d2's on the bumper? Should I just go with dual lies all the way around?

The Rigid lights are blinding. If you use them AS fogs, you will be blinding drivers and be pulled over constantly. Don't do it.
