Default Kicker Comp VR subs

I am trying to decide what kicked sub I want to get. I noticed that there is a Comp VR sub and a Comp VR Aluminized sub and they are the same price. Does anyone know the difference?

I believe one has an aluminum cone and the other has the normal plastic cone. It's really just a color preference

So the aluminum vs plastic doesn't make a difference?

From experience, the VR series will handle much more abuse than the COMP series.

If you will be pushing them hard, Id do the normal cone. I had a set of aluminum ones, and saw no benefit.

In fact, they dented and scratched easily compared to the normal set.

The vr model is actually called the comp vr. He wasn't referring to the black and yellow low end comp. Just saying

honestly what you would get out of a CompVX vs the VR is well worth the difference.

I know the comp VX is better than the comp VR but I don't want to pay $300+ for one sub

I ran the Kicker 10CVR84 In the stock Infinity box for the Jeep. Wasn't a bad sub for the size. I have it in my classic mini right now. Need to find a better spot in the mini as it is not bolted down in the trunk.

I still have a set of kicker comp vr 12s in my brothers montero. They are at least 7-8 years old and still slam. I had that montero for about 3 years and he has it still today. Between the 2 of us we have managed to toast every component speaker and amp, but the vr's are still goin strong
