I have them installed so that I can yank out the box and leave everything else unseen and permanent. I might get a Bestop deck cover for when I have the top off in the future to conceal, for now I just yank it out...

That's assuming they want to take it out nicely for you... I'm right on the fence right now as to putting my KVT-819DVD in or selling it tomorrow. In my opinion, if it gets stolen, it gets stolen. I just don't want to have to deal with some a-hole ripping my dash apart, destroying all my wires, and leaving me with a bill to replace all that can-bus junk....

That is true, but they need to rip the dash off first to get to it. Insurance will cover it if it gets stolen I figure. If it gets stolen oh well.

Default Hey, what kind of kit did you use

Did you have to buy a custom kit to make it fit so perfect? Thanks bro.

Nope just used the frame that came with the head unit but needed to shave the top and bottom of the frame nothing else.

The pics are posted in the OP - what are you looking for pictures of? The dash mount kit? It's just the standard DD kit for Chrysler/Jeep. He indicated he had to shave just a tad off the top for a perfect fit. Should be pretty self explanatory once you're doing the install..if its a little tight just take a file to it.

Hey this is great. I have the 6.5" version. A lil different but it's also Kenwood and I'm worndering, did you have to cut anything to fit it? I know mine didn't go in but I'm going to try it again soon so I wanted to know. If so, do you have more detalied pics of your install?
