Finally took the plunge and bought the JL Audio Stealthbox. I was waiting for someone to say if they loved it or not, waste of money, should have went another route... etc. Well I can tell you it is awesome. It is way louder than I thought it would be, it truly sounds like a 15" sub in the trunk. I had it installed without the bass control knob, but I already purchased it and plan on installing that tomorrow. I upgraded the 4 speakers in the interior with Polk Audio db 651's and they sound amazing. It was a little harder putting them in the roll bar than I thought because you need adapters, for a perfect fit. I am pushing the Stealthbox with a JL Audio XD300/1, which is what they recommend. It is perfect because that amp is so small. I am keeping my factory headunit to keep it from looking suspicious. If anyone is on the fence about purchasing this, I full recommend it.

I bought the Polk Audio Speakers when they were buy 1 get one 50% off at Crutchfield. They were $150.
Stealthbox was $650
Amp $300
Install with all the wiring for box and amp was $100.

So $1150 for everything, I just ordered the bass control knob but that was only $40.00 and plugs right into the amp, so that was a simple install.

MUNSON! I was curious as to how the Polk speakers were on the stock Infinity amp being they are 4 ohm vs. the 2 ohm stockers. I'm going with the Polks when I upgrade. Congrats on the upgrade!

I'm thinking about doing the same for my JKU, I have already replaced the 130 RES with a RBZ unit and kicker 77kick10 speakers all around. I want to add some bass though. Did you install the jl clean sweep too which allows factory headunit integration? Are you running an amp to the speakers or just sub?

Looks great man, congrats on the new toys. And thanks for sharing the post! I've been looking at that JL Audio box for a while myself, but with hardly any reviews anywhere on the web, it's been tough justifying the $650 price tag.

I'm curious, do you find this sits up high off the floor? I know the bulk of it sits in the trunk;s 'basin', but I'm wondering how high it is off the main floor itself.

+1 more for the DB651s.

I have a 8" Pioneer sub under the rear seat, and apparently I got a defective one because it just stopped working after a few days (wired correctly, etc). So, while I was waiting for the replacement, I turned off the high pass filter on the DB651s and honestly didn't miss the sub. Amazing speakers. I'm pushing everything with a small Alpine amp MRX-v60, fits under the passenger's seat. Everything is totally hidden except the speakers in the sound bar, I used the Polk grills.

Did you polyfill?

I had the amp hooked up to the factory stereo, and only to the Sub... it sounds so awesome, today I have the top down and it is still to much bass. I am waiting for UPS to bring my bass control knob so I can adjust it without making the adjustment on the actual amp. I would totally recommend this system.
