Jeep JK Dash Lights Going Crazy
So I have had this issue since I bought my 2009 JK a couple of years ago. Every single dash warning light comes on along with the message "hot-oil" flashing on the dash. When I try to run the codes, it just gives me either a communication code, or every single code in the book. This originally began if it was cold outside, then it slowly progressed to whenever I would hit bumps. At this point, my jeep will only start if I bang on the dash as I turn the key. I know that it is not a obvious fix as I have done pretty much everything I could think of to possibly fix this. I have cleaned all the grounds I can get to, replaced the battery terminals, replaced the PCM, replaced the battery, and even tried running an extra heavy duty ground wire straight from the negative terminal to the frame. I have also taken it to two different mechanics and a third jeep specialist. At this point I am desperate, no one can figure out my problem, and I am a broke college student who has already spent way too much on trying to figure out this issue. I would be extremely thankful for any advice I could get.

So if you're banging on the dash then you need to open up and figure out what connection you're making. When you say you replaced the PCM, which box did you replace? We've got the TIPM by the battery and then the ECU over by the washer fluid. Banging on the dash is just a cue that whatever the issue is, is likely in the dash. Oddly though, there's a lot of plastic between where you'd be hitting and what's back there. It could be worth the time to open the dash though and verify the connections behind the cluster.

I'd connect an advanced scanner that will get DTC's and communication for every electronic module. This isn't the generic codes that auto parts store scanners can read, you have to get to the advanced and proprietary stuff plus a factory manual to fully interpret them.
I reviewed some of the scanner software in this thread if you want to troubleshoot it yourself, but an FCA dealer shop is the safe bet that the proper diagnostic equipment and manuals are actually on-hand.
Stay in touch,
