I don't think you can just cut it and wire another switch. You may need to wire a new switch with some t-taps or something.

I have the 968's and the 900's and I would prefer a cleanly installed switch, but I don't mind them that much.

you don't need thier switch...I have mine on a lighted toggle from Autozone. Simply wire the new switch to the relay.

Wires should plug into the back of the switch. Just plug new ones in.
RadioShack sells them the cheapest.

They don't. The switch is assembled and encased with one wire. It's a very nice switch, just sucks that it can't be installed super clean.

You still ought to be able to pull the wiring out and wire it to a different switch.

Those look just like my PIAA's...3-pin connector. red pos, black ground, white/yellow switched 12v toggle (for illumination-may not have it with those switches). Should be a cut crimp and plug in situation.

I did mine with a rocker switch mounted above the speaker.
Yellow- Power for the switch, splice into the factory lights or acc. wire.
I used the acc. power outlet wire.
Black with white stripe - Return power for relay, runs from relay to switch.
Black - Ground, run from switch to the body.
